Feedback Technique

Learn
I learned about PIES technique when it comes to giving feedback. It simply means
Point: Giving the point
Impact: Explain the impact
Examples: Give examples
Solutions: Ask or provide solutions.

Unlearn
I realized PIES technique may not be effective especially when it come to giving corrective feedback.

Relearn
Instead of using PIES, we could use another Corrective Feedback Technique that has the following steps.

1) Do it Quickly, Face to face and in private.
2) Agree with facts
3) Ask and Listen
4) Correct the Action, Not the Person.
5) Explain why it matters.
6) Agree on Remedy.
7) End with compliment/ positive note (not a “must” step)
